Cancer cytogenetic study (peripheral blood)

    Peripheral blood may be used instead of bone marrow in cases of failure to aspirate adequate specimen for cancer cytogenetic study.  This is usually possible if the circulating blast count is more than 10% of total leukocyte count.

 

Indications

bulletThe same as those of Bone marrow study .

Speciemen:

  1. Withdraw 5 ml of peripheral blood in a heparinized syringe or Vacutainer.  
  2. Send the sample as soon as possible
  3. If a delay is expected, it is important to add specimen to collection medium (please, call to request our free cancer cytogenetic collection kit)

Report time :

    Results are usually available within 3-6 days
